Birth: 25 Mar 1763, Winchester VA

Death: 8 Nov 1844, Hopkinsville KY

Boyd, John, R1088, VA line, appl 15 Jul 1837 Warren Co. Ohio, aged 74 a resident of Lebanon, Ohio. He was born 25 March 1763 at Winchester Va, and enlisted there. After his discharge from service he lived in PA until 1789 when he returned to Winchester VA and in October 1789 moved to Augusta Co. Va where he married.  In 1791 he moved to Rockingham Co, Va and in 1808 moved to Lee Co, Va. Moved to Christian Co, Ky, 1824 moved to Madison Co, TN, in 1836 moved to Lebanon Co, OH. A son was mentioned as living in Christian Co Ky in 1824 but was dec'd in 1837 and wasn't named in the file. John died at the home of his son-in-law D.S. Hays of Hopkinsville Ky on 8 OCt 1844 leaving a widow Elizabeth Boyd who died in Madison Co. TN about 1852. Children: George W Boyd (grandchildren: Alonzo, Amanda, Oscar, Newton, Emma, Harriet, John, Lucretia, and Charles), Sarah Summers died with children unknown, Peggy Boyd and granddaughter Mary Boyd, Milton Boyd with unknown children, Jane Hays (wife of D.S. children James and Benjamin. John W Hays was admin. of the soldier estate but no date was on the aff'dt.
