John Boyd was born near Pittsburgh and followed the calling of a farmer.
He married Rachel Waters, daughter of the Reverend Samuel Waters. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd were the parents of the following children: John, Eliza, Nancy,
Charlotte, William, Jane, Samuel, Andrew, Stephen, and James Gray.
Only one birth date for one of the children:
James Gray Boyd, son of John and Rachel Waters Boyd was born 02 Apr 1821, in
Westmoreland county, PA.

Boyd Rachel died 29 Oct 1848 aged 68 yrs - wife of John Boyd
