4. Charles Boyd born about 1915.

I would like to submit my direct line of Boyds, since they are from the family bible records written and kept by Sarah Stewart Boyd, wife of John Boyd.  Her bible was small and well used, not a big ornate one, and it was printed in 1815 in Philadelphia, PA and on the fly leaf it is stated that it was printed by the permission of the "Kirk of Scotland".  I have included her line only as far back as the Stewarts. Actually it is through her mother that I trace my line back to the Kilmarnock Boyds, since it was her Montgomery family that married into the Boyds to abate the terrible "Blood feud" that existed between the Earls and the later lairds on Eglington and Brigend (my line) settled in New Jersey in 1700.

I hope this will be of use to your membership and anyone with the name of Boyd that has their ancestry in this Central area of Illinois and Indiana and the natural dividing line that is the Wabash River.  The river separated the two counties with the same name but spelled differently; i.e. Vermilion, IL and Vermillion, IN.

Ronald Eugene Boyd
