George Hamilton Boyd

Mercer County, Pennsylvania

George Hamilton Boyd, residing in Sharon, Pennsylvania, is a native of Ohio, born at Elyria in 1858. He received a liberal education and early in life became associated with the iron industry at Cleveland, Ohio, to which city he went when a young man.

Mr. Boyd remained at Cleveland up to 1892, when the manufacturing plant of the company with which he was connected was destroyed by fire. The company, known as the Thomas D. West Foundry Company, re moved to Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, in 1892, and built its present extensive plant, numbered among the most important concerns of the famous Shenango valley. Of this company Mr. Boyd is the president and treasurer. He is a thoroughly reliable and progressive businessman, who has achieved success as an extensive manufacturer.

In 1908 his present spacious and modern residence was erected, the same being one of the finest properties within Sharon, the place noted for many beautiful homes. This house is situated at No. 507 East State street, in a charming location, with attractive scenery in the distance. Politically, Mr. Boyd is a supporter of the Republican party.
