Matilda J. Boyd

Henry Boyd Family > Ireland> Scotland> Mahoning County, Ohio

The exact birth date and place where my g-g-grandfather, HENRY BOYD was born has not yet been established but my estimated guess would be about 1844, and according to family, he was born somewhere in Ireland. His first two children's birth records state that he married MARGARET CUNNING August 1863 in County Down, N. Ireland. His second two children's birth records state that he married MARGARET CONNOR 02 Oct/Nov 1865. Further research is necessary to determine if Margaret Cunning and Margaret Connor were actually the same person. The family moved to Scotland sometime between 1865 and 1868.

Children of HENRY BOYD and MARGARET CUNNING/CONNOR:

1) CHRISTINE BOYD born 1865 in Grey Abby, County Down, N. Ireland.     Married Michael HUGHES.

2) MARGARET BOYD born 1868 in Whifflet, Middle District of Old Monkland   Parish, Lanark County, Scotland. Became a Nun.

3) MATILDA JOSEPHINE BOYD (*my g-grandmother) born 1871 in Coatbridge (Rosehall), Eastern District of Old Monkland Parish, Lanark County, Scotland. Married William J. TRAYNOR. Settled in Mahoning County, Ohio.

4) WILLIAM BOYD born 1874 Haywood Colliery, Parish of Carnwath, Lanark County, Scotland. Married Margaret A. Traynor. Settled in Mahoning Co;OH

Son of WILLIAM BOYD and MARGARET A. TRAYNOR:

HARRY TRAYNOR BOYD born 1903, Motherwell, Parish of Dalziel, Lanark County, Scotland. Married MARY (MAE) FINNIGAN. Settled in Mahoning County, Ohio.
