James Boyd / Ann E. Williams PA to Plain City, Madison County, Ohio JAMES BOYD, Darby Township, farmer, P.O. Plain City, was born in Washington County, Penn., June 5, 1826, and moved with his parents to Madison County in 1831, locating in this township in 1852. He was a son of James and Martha (Millikin) Boyd, natives of Pennsylvania. Our subject's education was limited to the common schools of this county. He early began the work of a farmer, and has since spent his life in that useful occupation. He owns a farm of 356 ½ acres of land, near Plain City, where he resides. He married, November 20,1864, to Ann E. Williams, a native of Franklin County, Ohio and a daughter of Ebenezer Williams. They have three children - Emma Boyd, James Grant Boyd, and Robert Colfax Boyd. Mr Boyd was a Whig until the formation of the Republican Party, since which he has been a Republican. His grandfather, Col. Millikin, an officer in the war of 1812, was a surveyor by profession, and at one time owned 2,200 acres of land here. Source: The History of Madison County, Ohio, W.H.
