Thomas Parsons
Boyd/Anna Steele
Thomas Parsons Boyd, son of Thomas Boyd and Susannah SMITH, was born at Shelburne,
MA 18 August 1809. He married at E. Bloomfield, NY, 22 May 1833 Anna STEELE, daughter of Elisha STEELE.
At the age of 19 he went with his father, Thomas Boyd
to New York and settled in the town of York, near the village of Griegsville. In 1841 he removed to LeRoy, where he lived nine years and then returned to York. At an
early age he united with the Congregational Church in Shelburne, MA and ever maintained a
consistent and devoted Christian life. He was from the first an earnest Abolitionist and in temperance he was
an advocate of total abstinence. In temperment he was patient, hopeful, and perservering. His last day of work
was characteristic of his life; it was spent in planting trees and vines for the coming generations. [Taken from
