Asa K. BOYD, wife Elizabeth one daughter, Mrs. S. B. Head of Fairmount Minn. six sons, Oscar of Pingree; Charles of Pingree; Melville of Winnipeg; Dempster of Campbell, Minn.; John of Alberta, Canada; Ed of Marmarth, ND.

Obituary of May 10, 1917

"The remains of A.K. Boyd, who died at Maysville, Mo., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Head, arrived in Pingree Monday, April 30th and were buried in the Pingree cemetery.  Grandpa Boyd as he was familiarly known here was born near Madison, Ind., April 29th, 1830, being nearly 87 years of age. He came west with his family in 1897 and settled in this vicinity, remaining here until he went to Missouri a short time ago.  He is survived by four sons and one daughter, among them Oscar Boyd, of Pingree."

"DEATH OF MRS. A.K. BOYD, OLD RESIDENT OF PINGREE

Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd Passed Away At Her Home In Pingree This Morning

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd, wife of A.K. Boyd of Pingree, and a well known resident of Stutsman county, occurred at 4 a.m. today, due to ailments caused by advanced old age.  Deceased, who was 82 years old, had been ill for about six months.

Mrs. Boyd came to Stutsman county about 16 years ago and has resided at Pingree ever since, forming many acquaintances and friends in that vicinity. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. S. B. Head, Fairmount, Minn.;  and six sons, Oscar and Charles Boyd of Pingree; Melville, Winnipeg; Dempster, Campbell, Minn.; John, Alberta, Can.; and Ed, of Marmarth, N.D.

The funeral services will be held Sunday at Pingree, Rev. Charles H. Phillips of the Congregational church, Jamestown, preaching the sermon. The burial will be at Pingree."
