While going through some old
things during a visit to my father recently, I came across many photos
belonging to friends of the family. Unfortunately many were not labeled,
but I would be happy to send those that were to anyone who feels she/he is
related to these people, all of whom I believe were from Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania or the surrounding area.
There was also a
photograph album that my grandfather made of shipmates when he was in
the Navy between 1902 and 1906. Many were unlabeled, but the following
did have names and cities:

MURPHY, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; F. FRIDAY, Greenville, South
Carolina; E. E. HOWET [I think, the handwriting isn't clear on this one
and there is no home town] taken April 15, 1905 in Manila, Philippine
Islands; and one that I can [not?] read the first initial, but the
second initial is F. BROWN, 18 W. 6th St., Portsmouth, [the state could
be Ohio but again the handwriting isn't clear]. If you recognize any of
these names, please contact me. I would love to return the photos to the
descendants of these men.

I'm sending an attachment of the picture of A.K. Boyd. He is in a
picture with another man. I am not positive which man is A.K. Boyd
and which is S.R. Nixon of St. Paul, Minn. But A.K. Boyd's name
is listed first on the back of the photo so I am thinking he is the one
on the left side as you look at the photo. Photo taken in Hong
Kong.
My name is Monty McMurray and this morning I started
to do some genealogy work on the 'Boyd' side of the family. I
Googlized "boydhavredegracemd" and a post from Bette LoPresti popped
up with a letter and a picture of my grandfather, Albert Keifer Boyd.
I was so amazed to see this, as all of the photos from
my mother's side of the family had been lost several years ago.
Also, on the same post is a note to "Richard" advising
that Bette was forwarding a copy of the picture. I had no idea when
this photo was posted but I was wondering if the "Richard" in the
letter could be you.
I have emailed Bette at the address listed but, like I
said I have no idea when it was posted so this could be a dead end.
Any info you may possibly have on this photo would be greatly
appreciated. I thank you.

Navy. It looks to me that he is the son of George A. Boyd and Rose Lawder..........who
was the son of William and Sarah Boyd from Cecil Co., MD. The following
