SAMUEL BOYD, farmer, Post Office Mechanicsville; born in Vermilion County, Illinois in 1833; came to this county in 1847; owns eighty acres.    He married Miss MARTHA J. PETTIT in 1857; she was born in Ohio; has seven children: MARY E., JOSEPH S., ANDREW A., CHALKEY D., NANCY A., SYLVIA and FREE;  lost one.
