Mary J. Boyd ~ Isaac T. Lacey

 

Polk Co; Iowa


 

Isaac T. Lacey, farmer and stock-raiser, section 25, P. O. Mitchellville. Was born in Carter county, Tennessee, June 17,1821, and when young, engaged in farming, which he has followed up to the present time. In 1854 he came to Iowa-settling in Jasper county, where he remained until 1872, when he came to this county. He owns a farm of 250 acres. Has always taken an active interest in all that pertains to the prosperity of the township. On the 19th of September,1844, he was married to Miss Mary J. Boyd, of Carter county, Tennessee. They have seven children living: Susan E. (born January 25, 1846), George N. (born July 30, 1859), James R.(born June 6, 1852), Isaac F. (born November 11, 1856), William H. (born August. 28, 1858), Ulysses S. (born December 6, 1865) and Jonathan L. (born December 17, 1868). They have, lost six. Mr. L. and wife are prominent members of the M. E. Church.
