Obituary - John Boyd Obituary of John Boyd - 27 Feb 1907, Robinson (IL) Argus John Boyd died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jane Smith, near Danville, Feb. 21st, aged 84 years, 7 months and 10 days. Deceased was one of the early pioneers of Crawford county. His father Archibald Boyd and wife came from North Carolina in the early part of the last century, stopping for a few years in Orange county, Ind. and then to this county in 1818, locating near the present town of Porterville. There the family was reared and the parents died. The subject of this sketch grew to manhood, married, and reared a family in this county, moving to the vicinity of Danville in 1861(?),living there until his death. He is survived by five children, two sons and three daughters, and a number of relatives and friends. He was the youngest brother of the late James Boyd of the vicinity of Trimble and uncle of W. M.
