Elizabeth Boyd Woolley ~  Basil Andrew Woolley

I live in Selma, (Dallas County), Alabama. Last Saturday June 15, 2002, we visited Elizabeth Ann Boyd Woolley's grave!

It is located in the front yard of a couple's home in Chilton County, AL. Also buried there are some Jones and other family members. Nine in all.

The couple were very nice and let us take pictures. They also explained when they were digging around the yard many years back they heard people talking . They thought it was the dead. They didn't dig anymore. Occasionally they still hear talking once in a while.

Elizabeth Ann Boyd was married to Basil Andrew Woolley. She was from Va. and he was from S.C. They got married in S.C. and moved to Georgia for a while and then settled in Bibb Co., AL. (now Chilton Co., AL.  She is buried in the front yard of the couple's house.  There are nine graves all together buried there. I hope this information and photo from the previous email will benefit someone..

Basil Andrew Woolley was born June 8, 1777 in Edgefield Dist., Chester Co., S.C. and died October 6, 1848 in Calhoun Co., AL. He married Elizabeth Ann BOYD December 29, 1805, in Edgefield District, Chester Co., S.C., daughter of  Robert Boyd.  She was born June 2, 1788 in Halifax Co., VA., and died October ?, 1865 in Bibb Co., AL which is now Chilton Co.  Elizabeth Ann Boyd Woolley is my wife's GGGGGrand- mother.
