 John A. Boyd, M.D. ~ Belzere Ledoux

SC to Breaux Bridge, St. Martin Parish, LA

Dr Boyd was born in Newbury district, South Carolina. He is the son of JOHN BOYD and MARY WILSON, both natives of South Carolina. He was reared in his native county and attended the schools of that place, from which he received a thorough academic education, chiefly at Beaver Dam Academy.  After completing his literary studies he began the study of medicine under Dr William G. Dierson, of Franklin, Tennessee, where he pursued his studies for four years, when he entered the medical college at Lexington, Kentucky, and, after attending one session, received his diploma. He began practice in Giles County, Tennessee, and removed after a short while to Hines county, Mississippi.  After practicing in this place for three years, he emigrated to Breaux Bridge, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, where he continued to practice.  The Doctor stands high in his profession, and has a large practice at this place.  He is united in marriage with MISS BELZERE LEDOUX, daughter of August  and Ludsin (Cormier) Ledoux, of St. Martin parish. They have two living children, JOHN L. Boyd, and (?) BOYD .
