BOYD ASSOCIATED (SEPT) NAMES Most of the Scottish Clans have a list of associated or sept names. The Boyds are no exception. Sept or associated names are names of families that lived in the same general area as the Clan. Over the centuries there was a lot of intermarriage between the main family in an area and the surrounding families.
