Dear researchers:

BANKHEAD - BLACK - HOLLIS - BLACK - CARSON lines SC>AL>MS>TX

I am doing research for my sister-in-law, Carol BANKHEAD (MYRICK,) wife of my brother, Billy R. MYRICK, who is the daughter of (Reverend) Robert BANKHEAD and Mary ARMSTRONG.  Part of the clues on their family lineage that I amworking with is that Tallulah BANKHEAD's father, William Brockman BANKHEAD, was a 1st cousin of Eugene BANKHEAD, from whom Carol BANKHEAD (MYRICK) descends.  I show that William Brockman BANKHEAD was the son of John Hollis BANKHEAD which would then mean that John Hollis BANKHEAD was the brother, most likely, of the Thomas BANKHEAD that is the father of Eugene BANKHEAD. Is that correct?

Looking for information on the ancestors/family of Eugene BANKHEAD, born: Dec 1878 in Texas, died:  Mar 1971.  His father was Thomas BANKHEAD, born: July 1850 in Mississippi, and his father was Jane ?/June M. ?, born:  Aug 1852 in ?, and they married in 1902 in Coryell, Texas.

It appears that Thomas BANKHEAD is descended somehow from the family line of:

Hugh BANKHEAD, b:  bef/abt. 1700 in Scotland, & Mary Jane ? James BANKHEAD, b:  1738/1742 in SC, & Elizabeth BLACK, b: 1746 in SC George BANKHEAD, b:  15 Jan 1776 in SC & Jane GREER, 23 June 1786 James Greer BANKHEAD, b: ? & Susan Fleming HOLLIS, b: 1821 John Hollis BANKHEAD, I, b: 1842, & Tallulah James BROCKMAN, b: bef. 1844 William Brockman BANKHEAD & Ada SLEDGE John Hollis BANKHEAD, II,
(Is this information correct?)

I found information showing that Susan Fleming HOLLIS's father was (Colonel) John HOLLIS, son of (Captain) John HOLLIS, (Rev. War w/ Marion,)

I show that Jane GREER's father was William GREER.  Does anyone know William GREER's wife's name and his parent's names?

Does anyone know the surname of Hugh BANKHEAD's wife?

Does anyone know the parents of Elizabeth BLACK?

Who were all of the children of James Greer BANKHEAD and Susan Fleming HOLLIS?

Who were the children of George BANKHEAD and Jane GREER?

Thomas BANKHEAD, born:  July 1850 in MS, and Jane/June M. ?, born:  1852 in ?, who were married in 1902 in Coryell, TX were the parents of:

(1.)  Elbinius BANKHEAD, born:  Aug 1869 in MS
(2.)  Eugene BANKHEAD, born:  05?/18? Dec 1878, in TX, died:  Mar 1971 in TX,  ............md:  Minnie CARSON
(3.)  Cora BANKHEAD, born:  Dec 1880 in TX
(4.)  Price BANKHEAD, born:  May 1884 in TX
(5.)  Bonnie BANKHEAD, born:  Aug 1887 in TX
(6.)  Charlie BANKHEAD, born:  Jan 1890 in TX
(Is this information correct?)

Is the above mentioned Thomas BANKHEAD, father of Eugene BANKHEAD, a son of James Greer BANKHEAD and Susan Fleming HOLLIS or is that incorrect?

If that information is not correct, does anyone know whom the parents of Thomas BANKHEAD are?

Looking forward to hearing from anyone regarding this family.  In advance, I thank you very much and am delighted at any point to share information regarding our various lines.

Sincerely,

Bellinda Myrick - Barnett (Email address not current)
