Rose Anne Boyd / Alexander Cooper Russell

Scotland to Lowell, MA

I am researching my gg grandmother Rose Anne Boyd from Scotland (I think from Glasgow)  She married Alexander Cooper Russell on December 31, 1848, in Scotland.

Children were:
Margaret R. Russell  born 13 June 1850 Scotland
John Russell born 6 Oct. 1851 in Glasgow Scotland. (my g grandfather)
Agnes Russell  born 11 Feb. 1853 Scotland
Alexander (1) Russell  born 22 June 1855 Scotland
Euphemia Russell born 6 May 1856 Scotland
William Russell born 14 April 1858 Scotland
Alexander (2) Russell born 5 Jan. 1869 Scotland
Annie Russell born 10 Nov. 1861  who was the last born in Scotland

John Russell's citizen papers show that he at age 11 he entered the U.S. on
November   l , 1862 in Milwaukee Wisconsin,   so far I have not found
anything stating they traveled together.  However on the 1870 MA Census for
the city of Lowell MA I located the following:  Address was 19 River Street
in the Centraville section of Lowell, MA  (Middlesex County) Ward 5

Russell Alexander  age 43 born in Scotland - both parents born Scotland
Russell Ann  age 62 born in Scotland - both parents born Scotland (because of
the age difference I felt this was Alexander's mother not wife.
First child recorded:
John Russell age 19 born Scotland - both parents born Scotland
Euphemia age 13 born Scotland
William age 12 born Scotland
Alexander age 10 born Scotland
Ann age 8 born Scotland
David age 5 born Mass.
Hugh age 3 born Mass.
John Cath age 50 born in Scotland (no record of family or friend)

I have no record of Rose Anne Boyd dying between the birth of her last child
and the 1870 Census (which she does not appear) here in Lowell, MA.  I did
not find Alexander in the Lowell City Directory until 1868 I need to research
the surrounding areas here.  The cemetery (St. Patrick's) began keeping good
records in 1892, and I have the death of Alexander Russell as 30 March 1874.
He also no longer showed up in the City directories for 1875.

I found no record of  citizenship for Alexander Russell, only his son John
Russell who became a citizen in Manchester, NH at the age of 33 on 9 Oct 1884.

I have a lot more data on the Russell family.
